What exactly are muscle relaxants?
Muscle relaxants contain a purified natural protein, botulinum toxin type A, that temporarily suppresses the nerve impulses to overactive facial muscles. The result: the muscle relaxes, the skin above it settles and existing lines fade naturally. The area between your neck and your hairline can be treated perfectly this way. The treatment has been applied safely in aesthetic medicine for more than 25 years.
What does a muscle relaxant treatment at Carpe Clinic involve?
During a short consultation your doctor discusses your goals and examines your face both at rest and in movement. Based on this analysis, the doctor determines which muscle groups are treated and how much product is needed. The injection is given with very fine needles at precise points in the forehead muscles, the frown area or the crow’s feet. The full session takes 15 to 20 minutes. Anaesthesia is not needed, most patients describe the injections as a series of short, light pricks.
