Carpe Clinic will be closed from July 29 through August 18. From August 19 we are open again.
In late January, we were guests at the IMCAS, the world congress of aesthetics in Paris. Like every year, the headlining event was the place to be for surgeons, dermatologists and physicians. Some 15,000 subject matter experts came together in search of the latest trends and scientific developments.
We attended a number of highly regarded symposiums on the latest developments on laser and injectables treatments, but skin care, the impact of pollution on the skin and the benefits of antioxidants were also discussed in detail.
We delved extensively into the latest trends in injectables during the conference days. Rhinoplasty with fillers and how we can serve our male patients even better were the focus here. The focus for injectables in men lies in 2023 on making the rounder face more angular to accentuate masculinity. In addition, we saw three notable, promising trends for the coming year: muscle stimulation technology, anti-pollution and wire elevator.
However, there is generally a difference in the types of treatments men choose.
One of the frontrunners at the conference was BTL’s latest skin and muscle stimulation technology. A technique that strengthens muscles with upward movement. By actively counteracting skin sagging, you regain beautiful volume without accentuating expression wrinkles. How it works. The synchronized RF technique remodels and smooths the skin by heating the dermis (dermis) while increasing the level of collagen and elastin fibers. At the same time, HIFESâ„¢ technology supports facial tissue repair. By selectively contracting muscles, it improves the density and quality of muscle structure. Fascinating? We thought so too! More on this later.
Another topic that received a lot of attention was the effect of pollution on the skin. That air pollution and ozone harm our skin has been known for longer than today, of course, but it remains a particularly hot topic. Especially those who live in a city it is best to pay extra attention to this. The solution lies in applying antioxidants during your at-home routine. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals so that metals do not adhere to your skin.
Lost a lot of volume in the face? Then the “silhouette soft wire elevator” is a solution. Lifting with wires is not new, but the techniques have improved considerably in the meantime compared to a decade or so ago. The threads are made of body-friendly PLLA and stimulate the production of collagen after which they dissolve. It’s an interesting way to finish fillers if you were at your limits there. This treatment is by appointment only, after an initial consultation and extensive discussion with our doctor.
On these three treatments, we will go more in-depth in the coming months on
our blog
.
